Day 26 Zeroing and Feeling Healthy

We are all finally starting to feel good. Tyler started the morning by going to the ER for treatment and diagnosis of his diarrhea. And Tyler ended the day by eating beef stew. Spencer and I are back to normal.

According to the tests Tyler took at the ER, he had Astrovirus and Norovirus at the same time. Given the similarities of symptoms I would say we probably all had the same combination. After having a bag of IV fluids, some Imodium, and gentle eating, Tyler has finally seemed to turn a corner. He hasn’t had any stomach issues since t coming back from the ER.

Once we are back on trail we will need to take a couple days before we really ramp up the miles again. We probably lost a good amount of our trail legs by taking a week off.

Right now we are expecting to get back on trail on Thursday. If tomorrow goes incredibly well, then we may be able to hike Wednesday. But it’s probably safer to give Tyler time to get his strength back and regain some of the lost calories and fluids.

While John and Tyler went to the ER this morning, Spencer and I made a big breakfast and put on a beef pot roast so we could all have stew for dinner. I’m still very appreciative and enjoying the AirBnB, and I’m definitely going a little stir crazy.

Headed to bed.

Goodnight,

Walker
