Day 75 Back on Trail

Ashley and I spent most of the day together in Allentown. We were out of the hotel by 11 and grabbed lunch from a barbecue restaurant. We drove up to the trail where I stopped hiking on Saturday.

At 2:30 Ashley left and began the drive back to Mass.

Saying goodbye was not easy. Ashley and I will see each other again in 2-3 weeks. Since Tyler and Spencer need to catch up I only hiked 2 miles, and I took my time. I sat at a campsite with a view for a while and talked to Ashley on the phone.

I made it to camp around 4:45 and saw an orange newt and a cool butterfly while eating dinner.

While in my tent trying to sleep I heard a sound that I’m guessing was a bobcat. It was like a mix between a barking and a chirping. I heard some rustling on the leaves about 20 yards away, so I’m pretty sure it wasn’t a bird but I definitely wasn’t very familiar with the noise.

Tomorrow the weather should be good but a little warm. I will meet back up with Spencer and Tyler in the morning and we will probably hike around 25 miles.

Goodnight,

Walker
