Day 77 Wind Gap

Today we hiked our last full day in PA and had beautiful weather to enjoy.

We woke up at 6:30 and were moving just before 8. I slept very well and woke up to a thick fog.

We hiked and enjoyed the weather once the fog cleared. It wasn’t humid but it was quite warm, probably over 80.

The trail was very flat but had quite a few rocks. The rocks weren’t hard but they slowed us down and we had to be careful to not trip or twist an ankle. At this point, with around 900 miles left the only thing that could stop us from finishing the trail would be a major injury. So we want to be very careful to not get hurt. And the rocks don’t make that easier. However, there were still quite a few sections of trail that didn’t have rock, so the breaks were nice.

We decided to go into the town of Wind Gap PA for dinner since we had some time to play with. We made it down to the road crossing before 3 and got an Uber into town. We ate at a diner and charged our phones then Ubered back to the trail. The last 5 miles of the day went pretty quickly. We had a quick view and made it to camp around 6:30.

Our luck with the weather may finally be running out. The next couple days look like a decent amount of rain. We will see what happens.

I uploaded both days 76 and 77 today. I’m a little behind on uploads but I have all of the posts written. It just takes time to upload them since the pictures require a good connection. I’ll upload two a day until I’m caught up as I have reception and time.

Goodnight,

Walker
